Whether you are seeking to enrich your little one’s zoo visit with hands-on discovery, workshops about wildlife and wild places, or Wildlife Theater shows, you’ll find that the Central Park Zoo is the wildest place in the city for family fun. We offer toddler programs for caregivers and little ones, preschool programs, after-school workshops and weekend classes for school-age children, and summer camps. All programs require advance reservation.

Youth Programs
Central Park Zoo programs are designed to connect kids to nature. Programs feature animal encounters, exhibit visits, art activities, and more, encouraging discovery and nurturing an enthusiasm for wildlife. They are also an excuse to have fun!

Family Programs
From our popular Toddler Time Series to our new seasonal family parties, the Central Park Zoo offers families a chance to discover the wonders of wildlife together. Book a family Wildlife Adventure today!

Registration for Spring 2011 Family Programs begins on January 3rd.

Adult Programs

Explore issues of wildlife conservation with Central Park Zoo staff, experience the zoo in a unique way, and see our exhibits and animals through an expert’s eye. At these programs, you’ll also have an opportunity to meet and mingle with other wildlife devotees.

School Programs
Learning is an adventure when you select one of the Central Park Zoo’s education programs. Bring your class to us, or we’ll come to you. We offer a wide range of programs to enhance science curricula and educate and inspire diverse communities so they come to appreciate the wonders of wildlife and wild places.

Wildlife Theater
The Central Park Zoo’s Wildlife Theater Players perform interactive shows using drama, puppetry, games, and songs. Performances inspire audiences to learn more about their natural world and become part of its protection. The troupe works with schools, community centers, hospitals, camps, and at private events.

Summer Programs
Young explorers meet polar bears, snakes, and snow leopards during Central Park Zoo’s Summer Wildlife Weeks. From Kinderzoo to Junior Keepers to our new TEEN INTERNSHIP, our multi-day wildlife camp programs offer live animal visits, zoo explorations, crafts, and fun. Connect your young explorer to nature this summer. For children ages 4–15.

Tours
Explore the Central Park Zoo with our knowledgeable and trained guides. Since 1988, the Central Park Zoo Guides have provided guided tours to groups of schoolchildren, scouts, summer campers, families, and adults who are interested in learning more about our animals and exhibits.
